Pursuing an Airframe and PowerPlant (A&P) mechanics certification is governed by strict FAA regulations, specifically FAR 65.71-65.77. To be eligible for the FAA written exams, candidates must demonstrate relevant mechanical experience. Here are the specifics:
If you're uncertain about your experience or how it aligns with these requirements, please contact us. Our knowledgeable staff are ready to help you assess your options and guide you through the process.
To enroll at Global School of Aeronautics as a candidate for the A&P license, obtaining signed FAA 8610-2 forms is imperative. This ensures the FAA recognizes your experience and approves you for the written exams post-course completion. Experience can be proven in any of the following ways:
Upon securing any of these forms of verification, your next step is to visit your local FAA FSDO (Flight Standard District Office).
The FAA mandates that candidates pass all three written tests. To facilitate this, we offer examinations conducted by FAA-designated mechanic examiners. Testing is available in the morning, afternoon, and on weekends, typically within 2-3 days of completing the course. Rest assured, the Oral and Practical Exam fees are included in your course tuition.
At Global School of Aeronautics, we stand behind our instruction. In the unlikely event of a written test failure, we offer additional instruction at no extra charge. Your tuition covers three written tests (subsequent tests are $185 each). We pledge to support your learning journey for up to two years after you complete the course, ensuring your best chance at success.
